Synthetic Organo-Auxin Herbicides
Statutory Definition:
Plant growth regulator herbicides (including 2,4-D, dicamba, MCPA, triclopyr) that mimic natural indole-3-acetic acid (auxin), causing uncontrolled cellular elongation and epinasty in broadleaf plants.
Practical Exam Application:
Extremely volatile. Subject to strict state cutoff dates, buffer zones, and wind speed ceilings (3-10 MPH) to prevent catastrophic drift onto susceptible cotton, citrus, and grapes.
